Ensamble Cruzao es una agrupación oriunda de Manizales que nació en 2005 con el claro propósito de explorar las diferentes aristas de la música andina colombiana. Es probablemente la agrupación más importante de su generación, en una región que tradicionalmente ha aportado alguno de los hitos musicales más importantes de la música del interior del país. Cinco músicos que desde sus inquietudes estéticas y afinidades musicales se reunieron para concebir una idea entorno a los sonidos que los han cautivado, dieron paso a un ensamble que recoge lo mejor de las sonoridades, de las posibilidades tímbricas y melódicas y lo fueron alimentando con el bagaje de cada uno de sus integrantes.
El grupo, integrado por egresados de la Licenciatura en Música de la Universidad de Caldas, fue ganador del Premio Mono Núñez en 2012, uno de los reconocimientos más importantes del país. Desde ese momento, su carrera musical ha ido en ascenso y hoy, se consolida un momento muy especial en este camino, florece un gran proyecto con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, quienes llevaron los sonidos autóctonos de los Andes colombianos a un nuevo nivel musical. Esta fecha es la presentación del proyecto discográfico, Cruzao Filarmónico. Un álbum que hace gala de nuestros repertorios más tradicionales.
